Compare with the 2025 official cut-off (Tier-I – List-1 (LDC/JSA)):

Cut-off: 144.25858

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty and vacancies — treat last year's as a guide, not a promise. Official cut-off marks out of 200 (normalized), from the SSC Tier-I result of 27 February 2026. Tier-I was held from 12 to 30 November 2025. 37,520 candidates were shortlisted for Tier-II in this list.

Tier-I has 100 questions for 200 marks, and 0.50 mark is cut for each wrong answer (CHSL 2026 notice, para 13.8). This gives your raw score. SSC normalizes marks across shifts, so your official score may be different.

How your SSC CHSL 2026 score is calculated

Each section is scored on its own: right answers × marks per question, minus wrong answers × the negative mark. Skipped questions score zero. For example, in English Language (Basic Knowledge) (25 questions), 18 right and 4 wrong gives 18 × 2 − 4 × 1/2 = 34 marks.

Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill)184334
General Awareness184334
Total (out of 200)136

In this example negative marking costs 8 marks. With this marking a pure blind guess on a 4-option question still gains about 0.13 marks on average — but it's a gamble, and ruling out even one option makes guessing clearly worth it.
