SSC CHSL 2026 Answer Key (Tier-I)
From official Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Government of India notices · last checked 8 October 2026
SSC has not released the CHSL 2026 Tier-I answer key yet (checked 9 October 2026). The exam itself has not started. SSC's proposed Tier-I dates are 30 November to 31 December 2026. The CHSL 2026 notice says tentative answer keys are put up after the exam, with an online window to challenge them at ₹50 per question. Last year the CHSL 2025 key came on 8 December 2025, 8 days after that cycle's last exam day. We update this page as soon as SSC publishes the notice.
How to check the answer key and your response sheet
- Go to ssc.gov.in and click Login. Sign in with your Registration Number and password.
- On your CHSL exam card, click "Answer Key Challenge".
- A "Challenge System" box opens. Tick the undertaking (the saved question paper is for your personal use only) and click "Click Here". This opens your own response sheet on the exam agency's portal.
- Read the colours: green = you chose the right answer, red = you chose a wrong answer, yellow = the correct answer, grey = you did not attempt it. Use the PART-A to PART-D buttons to see each section.
- Count your right and wrong answers in each section and enter them in the score calculator below.
- To challenge an answer, click "Click Here to Challenge Question" next to it. Choose the type of complaint and write your objection (up to 150 characters). You can attach a scanned PDF or JPG of up to 3 MB. Then click "Proceed to Pay".
- Pay the fee online (₹50 per question in CHSL 2025). A challenge counts only after payment, and only online challenges are accepted. After paying, click "Click here" or wait 60 seconds to be sent back.
- Click "Save / Print" to keep your response sheet. SSC removes it when the window closes and does not accept individual requests after that.
- Note: in the challenge module the order of questions and options can differ from your exam. Your own answers are shown exactly as you marked them.

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty and vacancies — treat last year's as a guide, not a promise. Official cut-off marks out of 200 (normalized), from the SSC Tier-I result of 27 February 2026. Tier-I was held from 12 to 30 November 2025. 37,520 candidates were shortlisted for Tier-II in this list.
Tier-I has 100 questions for 200 marks, and 0.50 mark is cut for each wrong answer (CHSL 2026 notice, para 13.8). This gives your raw score. SSC normalizes marks across shifts, so your official score may be different.

Frequently asked questions
When will the SSC CHSL 2026 Tier-I answer key be released?
SSC has not announced a date. Its notice only says the tentative keys come after the exam, and Tier-I is proposed to end on 31 December 2026. In past cycles the key came 7 days after the last exam day (CHSL 2024: exam ended 11 July, key on 18 July) and 8 days after the last exam day (CHSL 2025: exam ended 30 November, key on 8 December).
How do I download the SSC CHSL answer key? Is there a PDF?
There is no public answer key PDF. Each candidate sees their own response sheet with the correct answers after logging in on ssc.gov.in with their Registration Number and password, then My Applications → Answer Key Challenge. Use "Save / Print" to keep it, because it is removed when the challenge window closes.
What is the fee to challenge an answer?
₹50 per question. The CHSL 2026 notice (para 13.3) prints ₹50, which is the same as SSC's current practice. The fee is paid online and is non-refundable. CHSL 2025 also charged ₹50. CHSL 2024 charged ₹100, before SSC cut the fee on 22 August 2025.
How long is the objection window?
About 3–5 days. CHSL 2025 ran from 8 December (6 pm) to 11 December 2025 (6 pm). CHSL 2024 ran from 18 July (6 pm) to 23 July 2024 (6 pm). SSC did not extend either window, so don't wait for the last day.
What happens if my challenge is correct?
The CHSL 2026 notice says SSC's challenge guidelines of 10 April 2026 apply. A question that is ambiguous, has no correct option or is out of syllabus is dropped, and its marks are given to everyone. If more than one option is correct, everyone who chose a correct option gets full marks. A translation error in one language is judged only for candidates who chose that language.
Will my score from the answer key match my official score?
Not exactly. The answer key gives your raw score. Tier-I is held in many shifts, so SSC normalizes the marks (method notified on 2 June 2025). The normalized marks decide who goes to Tier-II. Your official score can be higher or lower than your raw score.
When do the final answer key and the result come?
SSC uploads the final key after the result. For CHSL 2025 the Tier-I result came on 27 February 2026 and the final key on 19 March 2026. For CHSL 2024 the result came on 6 September 2024 and the final key on 16 October 2024. No date has been announced for CHSL 2026 yet.
