Cut-offs change every year with difficulty and vacancies — treat last year's as a guide, not a promise. Official category-wise cut-off marks out of 200, from the WBPSC result notice dated 16 July 2025 (Advt. No. 11/2023). 10,229 candidates qualified provisionally for the Final exam.
100 questions, 2 marks each, total 200. The question counts come from the official marks split (150 for General Studies, 50 for Arithmetic). The 2024 advertisement confirms negative marking but says the amount is printed on the question booklet. The 0.50 deduction per wrong answer is taken from the official 2023 Prelims booklet.
