Age limit

18 to 30 years as on 1 January 2024 (2024 drive). Your date of birth is checked from your Madhyamik (or equivalent) admit card or certificate.

Civic Volunteers / Village Police Volunteers serving in West Bengal Police	5 years
Ex-servicemen	Years of completed service, up to a maximum age of 40
NVF / Home Guards serving in West Bengal Police	As per existing government rules

Posts	Requirement
Constable (male, female, third gender)	Passed Madhyamik from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, or an equivalent exam, on or before the date of applying (5 April 2024 was the last date).

Must be a citizen of India.
You must be able to speak, read and write Bengali. This does not apply to permanent residents of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts; the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 applies to them.
Quota for NVF/Home Guards and Civic/Village Police Volunteers: only for those serving in West Bengal Police with 3 years of service as on 1 January 2024.
SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates from other states are treated as Unreserved. EWS needs a West Bengal Income and Asset Certificate.
Sports quota: participation must be on or after 1 January 2021, with certificates in the board's format.
You must meet the physical standards (see PMT and PET) and be medically fit.
Application fee (2024): Rs. 170 (Rs. 150 application + Rs. 20 processing). West Bengal SC/ST pay only Rs. 20 processing fee.
