For Madhyamik 2027, your date of birth must be on or before 31 October 2012. The Board will not make a Registration Certificate for a student born after this date (WBBSE Circular DS(C)/88/25, 14 July 2025). The circular sets only a minimum age.
Educational qualification
| Posts | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Regular candidates | You must study in Class X of a school recognised by WBBSE and be registered with the Board in Class IX (your school does this online). Your school holds the Selection Test between 17 and 30 November 2026 and enrols you online for the exam from 2 to 19 December 2026. Only your school can do the enrolment. |
| External / private candidates | The Board's 2026 and 2027 notices name only Regular, Continuing and Compartmental candidates, and all of them are enrolled through a recognised school. PadhoDost did not find a 2027 notice for private candidates. If this applies to you, ask the Board or your nearest WBBSE regional office. |
