Marking: +1 for each correct answer; 1/4 mark cut for each wrong answer

  • Each question has 4 answer choices.
  • The notice says the question paper is set in two languages: Bengali and Nepali.
  • The board sets the qualifying marks used to shortlist candidates for PMT.
  • Written marks count toward the final merit list.
  • Carry the printed e-Admit Card and your original Aadhaar card. Your photo and digital attendance are taken at the venue.

Marking: Qualifying only (no marks)

  • Male (all categories except Gorkha, Garhwali, Rajbanshi and ST): height 167 cm, weight 57 kg, chest 78 cm normal and 83 cm expanded (5 cm expansion).
  • Male (Gorkha, Garhwali, Rajbanshi and ST): height 160 cm, weight 53 kg, chest 76 cm normal and 81 cm expanded.
  • Female (all categories except Gorkha, Garhwali, Rajbanshi and ST): height 160 cm, weight 49 kg. No chest test.
  • Female (Gorkha, Garhwali, Rajbanshi and ST): height 152 cm, weight 45 kg.
  • Third gender: height 163 cm and weight 52 kg; for Gorkha, Garhwali, Rajbanshi and ST, 155 cm and 48 kg.
  • Height is measured barefoot. The board may measure height again at any later stage, including the interview.
  • If you disagree with your PMT result, you can appeal in writing to the Chairperson of the Selection Board/Committee, on the same day of the test only.

  • Male: 1600 m run in 6 minutes 30 seconds.
  • Female: 800 m run in 4 minutes.
  • Third gender: 800 m run in 3 minutes 30 seconds (as stated in the notice).
  • Ex-servicemen above 35 years: male 800 m in 3 minutes 30 seconds; female/third gender 800 m in 4 minutes 30 seconds.
  • Only candidates who pass PMT take PET.
  • Only one chance is given.

Interview

Marking: Out of 15; added to written marks for a final score out of 100

  • Everyone who passes PET is called for the interview.
  • The interview tests general awareness and suitability for public service. It also checks that you can speak, read and write Bengali/Nepali.
  • If two candidates have the same total, the one with higher written marks ranks higher. If those are also equal, the older candidate ranks higher.
  • After selection: character and antecedents check, then a medical exam at a state government hospital.
