Cabinet raises EPFO wage ceiling to Rs 25,000

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved raising the mandatory EPFO wage ceiling from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per month, expected to bring over 51 lakh additional employees under EPF, EPS and EDLI coverage. The annual outgo is estimated at Rs 11,339 crore.
